Peppery mussels. The authentic Sicilian recipe

The Peppery Mussels is a popular dish not only in Sicily. It can be served as appetizer or side dish. Here is the Sicilian recipe.
Serves 4:
- 1,6 kg mussels
- 4 garlic cloves
- Italian parsley
- extra virgin olive oil
- red wine vinegar (optional)
- pepper
Thoroughly clean the mussels.
Place them in a pan with a little oil. Cover and, over a low flame, allow them to open.
Strain the cooking liquid and pour over the open mussels.
Add the garlic, finely chopped parsley and a generous sprinkling of pepper.
